J.W. Creative Writer: Announcement

Johnny’s World: The Series, which consists of 5 books; The Beginning, The Early Days, Special Edition, Life Goes on and The Final Chapter has been re-structured/edited to become one book. The manuscript is currently with a local printer, so as to have a quality copy of it prior to submitting it to a publisher. My goal is to make these stories more accessible to readers. My individual books are still available both from me and Amazon.

The Mystery of Life

Life:

In reality, time stops for no one.

Only desire, but not

only feelings, but not

Only wishful thinking, but never.

When we recall memories, they can bring sadness,

but in reality, they are only gladness turned dark.

Our God is The Light in a dark world,

who brings light when darkness creeps in.

In reality, time continues, and His light

will never fade. Hope lives on.

The reality of life is eternal, and that hope

brings vitality. That Hope is in Jesus!

Thanksgiving is…

Thanksgiving is the giving of “Thank You’s”.

Thanks for blessings received.

Thanks for blessings given.

Every day is a new day filled with chances. Chances to show love and kindness to others. Some are missed. Some are just delayed. We must attempt to express love even in small ways. The Bible says, “For who has despised the day of small things?” Blessed is the day that brings such things your way, for without it you have a space uncluttered. They turn into memories and memories into answers to prayers. The worst thing to do, is to limit God by doubting His power to handle all things. There is nothing He can’t do except fail His children. We must continue our faith journey by accepting every blessing that comes our way. “Blessed are they…”- Matthew 5:3-12

Answering the Knock/ Living the Truth.

A given Biblical fact is that eternal life is offered to those who seek it. In practically the same breath, we hear of the abundant life. Only thing, is that abundant living can become as a grain of sand, hard to find.

Now, how can that be? The scriptures tell us that if we seek, we will find and if we open, He will enter. The problem is that once we allow Jesus in our lives, we mustn’t allow sin to reign in our mortal bodies. Where Jesus is, sin can’t abound. Forgiveness of sins took place on the cross. The ultimate sacrifice was offered, and our sins were covered by the blood.

Jesus willingly gave His life as that ultimate sacrifice. That is seen in John 3:16. “God so loved the world so much that He was willing and sent His only Son, that whoever believes in Him would not perish but obtain everlasting life.” That sacrifice paid the only price that would atone for the world’s sin.

The abundant life is a yielded life. In Romans 6:10-14 we find that Jesus’ death on the cross was a once and for all act. It covered the sins of all people for all time. Just as Christ gave His life for us, we need to surrender ours to Him. He has made us free. We are new creatures with a new game plan for life. We must present ourselves to Him alive and well, ready to live the life He intended for us.

Jesus also said in John 8:12, “I am the light of the world. He who follows me shall not walk in darkness but will have the light of life. We no longer would have to seek our way through life without dependable directions. Jesus would be the light of the world! In verse 32 He states, “and you will know the truth and the truth will make you free.”

Now that we have the Truth and we know to follow Jesus’ example, will we? The directions have been given and demonstrated. All we must do is abide in the light and follow that light wherever it shines.

Jesus made it clear in John 13:34-35. ” A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this, all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. Thereby, we are indeed able to live the Truth.

I have listed seven steps that help in following Jesus:

  1. Hearing God- Believe with all your heart.
  2. Accepting God- Receive the call of salvation (make it personal).
  3. Knowing God- Knowledge of God as it is revealed in the Bible.
  4. Following God- The life He has shown us to live by example.
  5. Obeying God- Jesus instructed us to love God, our neighbors, and ourselves.
  6. Growing in Grace- Choosing the path of Grace. As God has shown Grace to others, we must strive to do the same.
  7. Trusting God- Putting our focus on God. Seeking His timetable and not trying to make God’s will fit our desires.

Life isn’t predictable — J.W. Creative Writer

You are born. You live out your lifespan. You die. For some people life is that simple. In reality, it isn’t. That lifespan has “Happenings”. We experience “Life”. We make choices and have to live with the consequences of those choices. When a baby is born, he/she depends on someone for the continuance of that […]

My January Devotion:

A good way to begin any year is with prayer.

Let’s consider Acts 6:4 “But we will give ourselves

continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the

word.” Have you ever spent an actual hour in prayer?

Most people would have to say we would do pretty good

if we spent 15 minutes or less. The hymn “Sweet Hour

of Prayer” suggests a pleasant hour with our Lord.

Prayer is a face-to-face encounter with God. We must

realize how holy and perfect He is and how unworthy

we feel. He listened to the thief, and He wants to

spend time with you. Our God who saved us desires

to hear our wants and needs. Why not begin today?

The Light before Christmas

‘Twas the Light before Christmas and all through the world; the Word was with God and the Word was God. Not a creature was made that knew not the Light; the Light was life and ‘Twas the Light of mankind.

The Light would be hung on a tree without care; just to shine away the fear of darkness, in hope that someone would be there to bring the world the glory of God to share.

The children of the world all gathered around; to see if it was He, who had been foretold, for this is He of whom was said, ‘He who comes after me is preferred before me.’

When out of the blue, there arose the one that matters; the begotten Son of God of whom was that Light of the world. In Him would appear the only hope this world would see.

“Behold! The Lamb of God who cleanses all who gathers, to find the Word of God is all that matters, in a world of fear and trouble. If you will abide in my Word and I in, you-

The Light before Christmas becomes The Truth that says, “Happiness to all and to all a good life!”

J.W. Creative Writer:

Creative writing comes from the mind, but is driven by the heart. Whether the writer is young or old it matters not. A willing spirit is one that is willing to follow an inner voice that guides the pen or fingers in the direction he/she should go. My first attempt at writing was when I was in Junior High School. Woodrow Wilson in Port Arthur, Texas was the place. The opportunity was an assignment in English class to write a poem or short story for the school journalism booklet. It was seventh grade and everyone was asked to submit something for consideration. I did the same in eighth grade as well. The reason for mentioning that is because I don’t recall the year I submitted a very short story entitled “A scary night.” It did get published in the booklet and no I didn’t win any awards or even get mentioned over the speaker during announcements. What it did was dig deep into my creative memories and arise on another occasion to encourage me to take an even bigger step at writing and submitting that led to my first of four books in a fiction series to get published. Wow! Talk about hearing voices! Listen to them. The next time you hear one, follow it and see where it leads. I am thankful I did.
