More thoughts to ponder: for Writing is Creating

Issue #2/ Volume #1

Who are you? Are you valued in this world? Most people’s normal reaction would be an immediate, “Well, I am myself and yes I’m valued as much as the next person! Sure, but based on what and judged by whom? According to most dictionaries, valued is an estimate or appraisal or being thought of with high regard.Esteemed or having favorable opinion. Okay, let’s say being of value is based on that definition. What all is there that causes someone to view another that way? Deeds? Attitude? Behavior? Who is it that determines the outlook or judges the outcome? Some would say, “It’s our fellow mankind that makes that call. If that is true, how people view me is in the hands of all kinds of people with all sorts of beliefs. Is that truly fair? I think not. Now some may say, well we should let those of like minds do that. This is beginning to sound like trial by jury. How is it possible to get a fair assessment? It’s not possible!

Doing good to please others, only pleases those you do good to. Those outside of the act of kindness is left out, so pleasing people will give a pleasant appearance to some. In the book of Matthew, chapter 6 and beginning in verse 1, the Bible tells us, “Make sure that you don’t do favorable or charitable things for men just to be seen by them and impress them. If so, you will receive no reward in heaven from your God. Don’t sound trumpets as some do for they will receive glory now on this earth.” It goes on to show that what we do before mankind doesn’t improve our image of who we are. Yes, it helps but how we are viewed by our heavenly father matters most. Jesus came to show us the how, the when and the why. He did that by showing us The Way. No one can please both God and man in the same way. We must humbly come to God and present our lives as a sacrifice to Him to be used for His glory and not our own or someone else’s.

If you profess to be “a” Christian, then your life will show a different way of living. What matters to the world the most will be least of your worries. “You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.” That is an internal freedom that lasts an eternity. So, are you valued? Yes, indeed!
